Around 13 million women in the UK are going through one of the menopause stages at any given time. Two thirds of these women are in employment and in the workplace -the biggest cohort of workers currently in the UK workplace, and that number is growing. In the UK there are around 4.3 million women aged 50 and over in employment which means there are more working women than ever before who will experience menopause whilst in the workplace. And what about perimenopause which is probably the most symptomatic stage? This can start from early 40’s, so the number of women experiencing actual menopausal symptoms in the workplace is likely to be a lot higher.

What is your workplace doing to support this? This is a relatively new concept in the workplace and employers are still very much in the learning stages when it comes to knowing what to do and how to support their staff. Join Hannah to shed some light on the unique challenges that come with supporting menopause in the workplace, discuss Reasonable Adjustments and look at some wider workplace solutions so you can initiate those conversations with your manager and/or HR and get the support YOU need.
